Meet n' Greet at Hermitage

We took Jewel to the Hermitage Meet n' Greet today and everyone fell in love with this sweet little girl.  She enjoyed being "loved on" by a girl who wanted to take her home.  What a greyt meeter n' greeter she is!!   Jewel will be making another appearance at the Lucky Dog Pet Emporium in Mt. Juliet (new M&G location) from 11 - 2 this Saturday, June 18th.  We hope to see you there!

Patiently Waiting for My Forever Home...

My foster mommy and daddy tell me I'm a really good girl and soooo lovable and that my forever family will be very happy to have a sweet little girl like me.  They also say it won't be long until my forever family adopts me, so here I lay patiently waiting...

Jewel had her vetting appointment yesterday and came home last night a little "drunk" from the anesthesia from the spaying they did.  She slept well last night and is resting comfortably today.  She will have at least 1 week off  from Meet n' Greets.  Stay tuned to find out which Meet n' Greet she'll appear at once she has recuperated!

Bark in the Park, Lebanon

Jewel made her first public appearance at the Bark in the Park event in Lebanon today.  She walked out into the aisles to greet people as they walked by (she's the red hound with the red scarf in the photo below).  She knows what she needs to do to find her forever home!!  She will be looking forward to making future appearances at the Petsmart Meet n' Greets.  Watch for future announcements showing which Meet n' Greets she will appear at.

Jewel's First Experience with a Stuffie

Jewel has been with us for a couple of days now and is settling in very nicely.  She has learned, by a firm "no", that it's not okay to counter-surf and jump up on the furniture.  Everything is so new to a hound when they enter into retirement.  Here is a video I took of her first experience with a stuffie.  She had such a fun time with it once she understood it was the toy squeaking every time she bit it!!

We picked up our new foster, Jewel today.  She is a sweet girl--well, of course she is, is there a greyhound that isn't sweet?   She was exhausted from her long trip to Nashville from the Birmingham track, and slept in the car on the way to our home.  She certainly perked up when we got home and she came into the house like she'd been there before!  She met all of our hounds and sniffed every inch of the house.  I will post again with more pics and info. as she settles into retirement.
